Welcome to Electric Square

We are an independent game development studio founded by industry veterans Jon Gibson and Tony Beckwith.

We’re focused on staff welfare and on being an enjoyable place to work… it’s important for us to pick the right projects to work on.
Jon Gibson – Studio Head, Electric Square

Based in Brighton, Electric Square is the newly-formed sister studio to the renowned Studio Gobo, which recently won a gamesindustry.biz ‘Best places to work in the UK games industry’ 2017 award.

Taking on the future

Driven by a collaborative culture that constantly pushes the boundaries of what it means to be state-of-the-art, we’re highly-respected and forward-thinking. Our dynamic mix of experts and the very best fresh talent results in energised teams and a thriving environment.

We should get one of these for the studio but I think there are health and safety issues ⚡

Confident and focused

We’re a fearless and wildly creative studio, as well as being professional and reliable.

It’s inspiring to work on different things so we can develop varied expertise within the studio. It’s also more interesting for our people not to be locked into the same sort of projects for the duration of their career.

We champion innovation with all the benefits of specialised insight and experience, including industry best practice. We encourage respectful critique and believe that creative empowerment is key.

United in our ambition

Creative energy powers the front line here at Electric Square, helping us to reach further, grow our capacity and exceed expectations at every level.

We leave no question unasked and no assumption untested in our drive to harness new gaming technologies and deliver mind-blowing user experiences.
